Molecular diagnosis for asthma

Clinically sensitive yet minimally invasive molecular diagnosis for asthma monitoring remains elusive. Javanmard briefly reviews emerging lab-on-a-chip technologies, which are portable, hand-held or wearable devices that could continuously monitor an individual’s health. These could be embedded in a bracelet, a necklace, or wirelessly powered sensors mounted on tooth enamel to measure exhaled breath condensate (J Allergy Clin Immunol 2019; 143(2): 542-544).
